My grandma had to go to the hospital tonight because she was in a lot of pain. They said her cyatic(syatic?) nerve was pinched between two bones. Ouch. Shes not a normal grandma though. I mean, shes old. But shes extremely active. she rides four wheelers and horses and other non-grandma-ly things. So its weird when normal old age things happen like she gets sick or hurt or whatever. My grandma and grandpa both have aged years and years and years in the last four months. Four months ago they were living on their ranch in arkansas riding horses in the ozark mountains. And then my grandpa had his four wheeler accident. And he was in a coma for several weeks. And now he can't even make himself a bowl of cereal. And my grandma is doing normal old age things like getting sick. Ack. I guess hospitals just force you to think about mortality. They gave her tons of morphine and some other happy drug and she was okay.
Anyways Im posting again because the x-ray tech said something that literally made me cringe but gave me chills at the same time.
"....Oh, ya know, I was a pretty miserable man. I didn't believe in anything. I said, god, I give up. Im done looking. if you want me to have a partner you're just going to have to slap me in the face with it. But he did, ya know. You just gotta believe in something"
I hate being preached to. But like, he wasn't preaching. He was just talking. And if we hadn't been receptive he wouldnt have kept talking. He was very matter of fact. It was kind of surreal because it was two in the morning and we were all half awake and this guy down the hall was having a heart attack.
Hospitals are very strange places.
