SO I got up, left the house (late), decided to risk taking the beltway instead of the backroads, which turned out to be a good decision as my car decided to do its whole "whoops, I'm out of gas even though I have a quarter tank left! what are you gonna do NOW" thing, so I had to pull off and find a gas station (which wouldn't have been as easy on the backroads and most likely would have caused me and everyone behind me to be late). Got to Towson, turned to park in the Union Garage, and oh look, it's the designated parking garage for the TU open house... great. Attendant told me to go ahead and park anywhere because "we aren't ticketing today, but I didn't tell you that **wink wink** " Found a space that my car should not have fit into, managed ot back in with assistance from the parking attendants (who found it highly amusing that I'd never nbacked into a space before... it's a guy thing, I think... I'm just more parking forwards) MIssed the car to muy left by a few inches (enopugh for me to squeeze out the door, barely) and the concrete support to my right by about half a centimeter (it looked like it was going to make the close accquaintance of my side-mirror). With two minutes to get to class, I raced down the stairs, acrosss campus, and up the stairs... only to fins that the lights are out, the door is shut, no one is thjere, and my profesor isn't in her office.
Class was cancelled today, and I'm on time for once.
If that's not classic Alanis Morrissette style irony...

and now, off to pick up my paycheck, pay rent and other bills, shake my head and sigh at my pitiful lack of money, and then head off to only Mike knows where for the weekend!!
That's right, a surprise getaway weekend with my Boy. I'll find out where we're going when we get there. And then, we'll see!! ;) Let's hear it for six years and a lifetime to come!
By the way, if you haven't b een outside lately, go. Find a place with trees, and grass, and blue skies, and jsut soak in the sunshine and rich colors, the smells, the feel, the breeze, everything that makes up the warm brilliance that is autumn. yum.
