What? I'm supposed to update REGULARLY?

*sigh* Well, it seems that I just can't get into the habit of setting aside a portion of each day (OK, each week, or even each month) to update this little thing, although I do try to keep up with what others are posting.

Let's see. My instrument training is slowly coming along. That's an additional rating on my private pilot's license that allows me to fly through clouds. It's hard, though, and I suspect I need to really need to spend more time during the week practicing on MS Flight Simulator, although right now I think more flying is what's needed. The proceedures themselves seem to be better than the flying right now. And if none of this makes sense to me, page me on SpinDizzy, and I'll explain. =:) It sounds like it should be easy, and when there's no turbulence, and lots of time to work out where you are and where you're heading, it is! I think that's only ever happened once, though!

I went down to visit friends in Orlando the other weekend. That was a lot of fun, although lots of flying for a 48-hour stay. It was great to see Jackrabbit again. He seems very happy at his new place, even though it's a heck of a drive to work, now. Being taken out the The Parliament House on Saturday evening was quite an experience. But in a good way! It's a rather large club, with a drag show (which was alternately scary and hilarious), and barmen who were wearing not very much but quite interesting clothing.

Things at work aren't going so well. The company I work for looks like it's going to be laying on a large proportion of people this coming week. Since they announced at the last all-hands that the product that I spend most of my time on is now dead, I'm not too confident about my chances of still having a job in a week. Even if I do have one, I think a lot of the people that make it a really fun place to work will no longer be there. *sigh* Oh well. Time to see if IBM will let me help with their quantum computer research.

I've been playing Battlefield 1942 a lot, and learning Eldar (Tolkien's elvish language). Both will look great on my resume! =:) Right?
