Yep, I have caused a situation whereby I must needs associate with those who 'organize' these 'hallowed' halls...
And it makes one wonder: What is it, exactly, that holds a university together?
How is it that people manage to graduate with 'valid' degrees, when the academic 'advisors' sit smugly in their chairs and say 'check the website!' to every inquiry ABOUT getting a degree?
...?
Even when one asks the most pointed, particular questions regarding a certain program...
Even when one has checked the website with a fine-toothed comb, and determined that the answers are NOT, in fact, available online...
After standing in line at 3 university faculty offices in an attempt to talk 'face to face' about something which should be a fairly straightforward conversation, I've become convinced that consulting a piece of carpet, imbibed with moulding plant matter, would be preferable to discussion with advisors.
Ever read/seen a book called 'IT'S NOT MY DEPARTMENT!'?
*whack*
I don't know why I try. I need to go have a serious discussion with myself about the 'worth-while-ness' of the university experience.
That, or I really need to book a week off of school to 'check the website' again, in search of those elusive answers.
(Someone must have put those answers on the website in the first place, surely? I just want to know who, so I can heartily 'thank' them...)
University... TRULY a learning experience...
