I just climbed a motherfucking mountain!

I had only hiked this particular mountain once before a few years ago, with a group of friends, which took nearly an hour and a half and made me feel like I was gonna die. The trail is only a mile and a quarter long, but that's ALL steep uphill with lots of climbing, so even just an 1/8th of a mile is totally exhausting; and there's a 1600 foot change in elevation. It's classed as a level 5 difficulty hike. Ever since that first experience, I'd shied away from it because I'd found it so difficult and in general I hate walking uphill, give me long flat distances any time!

I've been doing some form of walking every day for like three weeks now, and definitely am finding myself a lot more in shape, and an even bigger change--WANTING and CRAVING some form of exercise every day instead of doing it because I know I SHOULD. Today, I was picking up new glasses near where the mountain is, and I decided I'd give it a shot. I only wanted to go maybe 3/4ths of a mile up, because I knew even that much would give me a great work out.

Instead, I went all the way to the top. It took me about 40 minutes, and there were a few times where I was like "FUUUUUUUU" but for the most part it wasn't even extremely challenging. I didn't even have to stop to rest that much! I think when I was about halfway there I was just like "You know what, Erica? You can do it. You're awesome. Just go all the way." and then I motherfucking DID!
