I don't know how it all works, but it sounds like from how you've been working on it, surely they'd have prior knowledge of you handing it in? Is it the kind of thing where you get a reciept when you hand it in? Either way, I think it's time to argue at someone, or everyone :

Yup, I got a receipt, although it's not where I thought it was, so I think it's at my uni dorm room.

Well, I just rung and the lady in charge of that module is away, which is just crap. But the nice lady said shed send an email to her, and to my tutor about this.

Don't let yourself get angry Becky, large institutions make mistakes from time to time. I doubt you won't be able to progress to the next year, at the very worst they might ask you to do it again but if they're at fault then that shouldn't even be a possibility. You're an oddity Becky, calm or bubbly in the flesh but on livejournal you are AN ANGRY DRAGON.
