Popping into LJ just to keep a tick-mark record of happenings in my life. I imagine most people on my flist have either moved to fb/twit/tumb and/or don't read my posts at all anymore. But if you actually do, yes I am very much alive and well. Thanks for caring. /partial sarcasm ( Read more... )

I happened to check my email and lj sent a notice i had been tagged. So i came to read the entry. I am not dead on this thing since I still go to ysi com to hope someone posts some thing i might want that i can't get elsewhere.

Europe, fun! One of my Co-workers is on her way to Turin, Italy for 2 weeks for a soccer tournament.

lol. I still go on here for movies when Joe and I get bored.

Yes. Thinking we can do Italy and Greece another time. The UK is a good place to start real international travel (I don't really count the Caribbean/Mexico).

I've never had an urge to go to France, like anywhere in France. UK, Ireland and Netherlands are the only places in Europe I've wanted to visit.

Not even Disneyland Paris? We plan to go there. I'm not fond of the French, per say, but they have great artworks like the Venus de Milo and the Mona Lisa...those are really a must-see for anyone who appreciates art history like I do.

Would like to go to Ireland and Greece before I die, and maybe the Netherlands and Germany. Or Norway; I'm sort of interested in Scandinavia.

Actually, no, I don't have an urge to go to DIsneyland Paris. Yes their castle is beautiful, but I don't really need to go to their park. Tokyo DisneySea is the only foreign park I really want to go to. Nope, not one who appreciates art history much here. It would be nice to go to one of those museums, but I'd rather go to the American Museum of Natural History. Germany and Norway sound good too, but those aren't as high as the other places. And of course I'd like to go to Japan again.

I'm interested in the castle, Haunted Mansion as Phantom Manor, and the hotels. They are mostly Western US-related, which I find amusing. Plus I just love hotels.

Yes, I know you don't; lol you made that clear in Phoenix while I took you to see a bunch of art haha!

Yes, want to go to Japan, too. More than mid Northern Europe but not as much as Greece. Also Australia/New Zealand would be fun.

mmhhmm...new zealand would be pretty. I actually have a co worker who is at least part maori and just went there to visit family. we have a vet who is shadowing on of our docs and he i think moved while in grade school to australia then went to vet school too there (he is originally from here)

It was interesting to go to the bigger museum (the extent of our biggest museum here is probably equal to one of the large rooms. i don't know, didn't interest me all that much back in middle school which was prob the last time i went to one) and go around the scottsdale ones (since that was more local type of art). but i really can't stare at art all day and contemplate it.

I forgot about phantom manor. but still, not enough to make me go to paris. haha, we were just talking about languages at work and everyone doesn't care for the french language. like no one would have picked that as a language to learn and none of us find it that nice of a language to listen to.

NZ is probably next on my list after Japan. Boy, the flights alone are going to make me broke.

Lol. I'm not one to stand and contemplate, but when I see art/architecture from hundreds if not thousands of years ago, I am simply fascinated. It's the closest you can get to a "time machine" sort of experience.

I agree; the French language is totally unappealing. I wish I could go with my friend Patricia (who minored in French) so she could translate and enjoy visiting with me. I will just learn the basics to be polite...but really all I want is to see the sites. Although their desserts aren't too bad, I'm sure, either.
