Last night was the first night of our class. We weren't expecting it to go the full three hours but it did. I am so excited about the kids in our class, they all seem really cool, and happy about the alternative break program. I ran into one of the guys in our class today and he said,"I had really high expectations for this class, and you exceeded them." That I think, is a terrific compliment.

Today I spent 4.5 hours working on things in the Cal Corps office. I contacted a woman named Monica and we are going to play with kids in her orphanage our first day down there. She also gave me a contact number for a lady in Tijuana named Elvida who we can work with and also stay with. Which is terrific, its great to have at least one night covered as far as lodging.

I paid for our plane tickets today, and will be reimbursed sometime next week. They come in the mail on Wednesday she said. I've been calling airport shuttle services to get quotes, and that is way overpriced. Bart doesn't run before 6:15 on Saturdays so thats not an option. Alex volunteered to drive one car of people, so maybe if we can get 2-3 more volunteer? It would save almost $200.
