Goals

I was walking around campus today, the sun was bright, the air was warm, and I was being serenaded by the lovely sounds of Stars, and things were just perfect. A thought came into my mind about a quote that I heard during Brother Bott's devotional druing orientation, I wish I remembered it better, but in essence it was that every man is allotted the same 24 hours per day, and its what they do with that time that truly defines them. That is such a simple, but profound thought. It is amazing how often we put down ourselves and think that we can't do or accomplish what others can for whatever reason. But by thinking it this way, it really changes my outlook and I realized that we all really have the same opprotunity in life.
I really want to be someone that takes full advantage of all the hours that I am given. I don't want to settle for mediocrity. I think that its a shame that so many people cut themselves short because they dont think that they have the potential for great things. I have set high goals and I am really determined to acheive them. I know that I can bring about great things, so thats what I expect.
Being in my humanities class, I have really realized a whole world of fine arts that I have missed out on for so long. As the speaker said at last week's devotional, I want to be learned in the "finer things in life" and become more refined. There is so much music, art and literature out there that I want to explore.
Anyways... I know that this is kind of pointless for anyone else to read, but its something that I was thinking about today and wanted to say...so, yeah.
