I think this past weekend was the craziest weekend I've had so far this summer...and it didn't even involve 2B or the 2Bers--which actually is rather sad.

I've been sick for about the past five or six days now.  I've had a really bad sore throat, and on Wednesday I had a pretty high fever.  Unfortunately I couldn't afford to take off work at either of the places I am currently employed, so I had to suffer through the day.  Ever since I crashed into bed Wednesday night I feel like I've been trying to get enough sleep to make me well again :-/  Anyway, Thursday night I worked until one in the morning and Friday I didn't wake up until almost eleven.  And then we laid in bed until almost noon hehe  It was very nice but it also meant that we had to rush around to get things ready to go.  See.......WE WENT TO SEE EKOOSTIK HOOKAH ON FRIDAY NIGHT!!!  I was very excited.  I had to get my tire looked at at Walmart beforehand, though, so we didn't leave until almost four.

The trip to Cincinatti was really nice, it was sooooooo beautiful outside.  It took about three hours or so and we took mostly smaller roads.  When we finally got to Cinci, we found the place (called Annie's) and went to eat at the bar and grill right next door.  When I ordered a cheeseburger, the waiter asked me if I wanted to "run it through the garden" except that I thought he said "run it to the bar" and I was very confused.  Once he explained to me what he had actually said, I still had no fucking clue what he was talking about.  He then patiently told us, the only people in this honkey-tonk bar and grill under the age of forty-five, that it means put lettuce, tomato and onion on it.  So I have decided to use the expression "run it through the garden" as often as possible.

After we finished our foods and our Guinness, we went over to Annie's.  It didn't look that impressive from the outside, and to be honest I was a little apprehensive by its dumpy-looking exterior.  But once we got inside and looked around, I fell in love with the place.  We went to the bathroom first, and as Alex and Scott went into their bathroom I heard "whoa!"...so I was excited to see what would be in mine.  It wasn't anything spectacular...I think Annie's inside is supposed to be reminiscent of a cave, so that's kind of what it was like.  When I got back out, Alex told me I had to check out the men's room.  He opened the door so I could see inside...and there was a gigantic artificial rock formation around the men's urinals.  It was pretty sweet.

The inside was actually really big--the ceiling was just kind of low.  There were two bars and doors to the outside, where there were picnic tables and a gigantic stage where they hold outdoor concerts.  The night was perfect, so we got some alcohol and sat outside while we listened to them doing soundcheck inside.  There were speakers outdoors, so we could hear it perfectly.  Mike Perkins opened up for Hookah, and I thought he was pretty good but Alex didn't really like his voice.  Scotty was indifferent, I think.  We went back inside and sat at table to watch Perkins, and at the end of his set went out on the floor to be in the front row, right next to the stage.  The stage was low-ceilinged and dark, and there was no guard rail between us and the stage...in fact, between the first set and the second set, we sat on the stage to rest our aching legs and watch the people.  A girl sprinkled glitter all over us.  We saw several people that were at Hookahville this year, including one of our neighbors; at Hookahville he had been selling shirts that said "Sweney makes me smile" (Sweney is the badass guitarist in the band).

It was an amazing show, though there seemed to be a little tension at first when they got out on the stage...it kind of makes me wonder if Mullins (their new lead singer, who was an original member of the band and then quit, then started again) was having problems with the band.  Hookah fans are amazing, though.  They just dance like madmen and have a great time.  The second set was insane, though.  They came out on stage and seemed to have resolved whatever it was that was a problem.  Their bassist, Cliff Starbuck, at one point reached up to the scaffolding that the light fixtures were attached to and hung upside down!  He started to play and then stopped and flipped over, landed on his feet...and somehow managed to not break his bass or crack himself over the head with it.  I love Starbuck.  He is fucking amazing.  So, while Sweney makes me smile....Starbuck is a Jedi.

My legs hurt so much at the end of the show...being a Hookah fan requires a lot of stamina.  I was hot and sweaty and thirsty and exhilarated.  I could have gone ALL NIGHT LONG ;-)

The show got over around two in the morning; we still had a three hour drive ahead of us....ummm except we somehow managed to get lost in downtown Cincinnati.  At two in the morning.  It was very stressful and scary; after between fifteen-twenty minutes of wandering, we finally found I-95 N and got the hell out of dodge.  Of course, Scotty being Scotty, he passed out within five minutes, so it was up to me to stay awake and keep Alex company so he wouldn't fall asleep.  And I had to work at eight a.m. the next day at Sallie Mae.  We made it home at about five in the morning...and I was back up at seven.  I worked until noon, headed home, and got ready to drive Alex and myself to Fort Wayne for a family cookout.  It was awesome, we ate a bunch of great food and acted silly as hell.  Unfortunately (or fortunately, considering what transpired), my parents and siblings left.  Alex and I had been drinking beer (my family LOVES to drink) and I made the mistake of mentioning that I like Tequila.  At the same time, we ran out of beer.  So I went with my cousin, Jessica to go on a beer run.  And she proceeded to buy me Tequila lol

So basically Alex and I ended up getting insanely drunk with my family last night.  My aunts convinced me to get in the swimming pool with them....with my clothes on.  So I was soaked for the rest of the night.  I was freezing by the time we lit off the fireworks, but it was such a great time.  I got lots of awesome pictures.....but unfortunately my camera decided to be a bitch and erase all of them.  I don't know what the hell happened.  I think the memory card is messed up, I don't know.  I am very pissed, there were lots of good ones.  Oh well.

We ended up staying the night at my aunt and uncle's.  Alex passed out while he was waiting for Jimmy to set up his guitar to play, it was very funny.  I woke up this morning with a pretty awful hangover.  And I had to drive home, because I worked today at 2 p.m.

To sum it all up: this weekend was insane.
