Another gem from the OED random word feature: who would have thought that the phrase 'night music' has its own entry in the dictionary? There are two meanings listed; 'music heard or intended to be played at night', which is said to be frequently used with reference to insects, and then 'music which evokes the sounds made by birds, insects, etc., at night'.
For my part, the phrase reminds me most of all of *The Phantom of the Opera and the beautiful ballad 'The Music of the Night':
