Pile O Kittens!
Our dog Boo has been barking and digging at the corner of our house for a couple of days now. He's only done this once before and there was a dead possum... So we were surprised when we pulled back a board and found a tiny kitten!
We took him inside and got him all warm, fed him some puppy milk (after checking with a vet that this was ok to feed it), but he just wouldn't stop mewing!
His umbilical cord was still attached, and Boo very gently licked the little kitty clean, and the cord came off.
Boo went back outside and barked even more frantically, so we had another look under the house...
There were FIVE more kitties, hiding further back behind the heating tube thingy...
I'm so proud of my puppy, he was so protective of them, and they seemed calmer when he was near them.
Kitties are all safe at the vet, where they'll take care of them until they/we can find good homes for them all.
We really wanted to keep the first one we found (he's the runt!), but my dad has really bad allergies and asthma- not good with cats... :(
We'll see if we can find who owns the mother- it might be someone in our street, but we've asked around a bit and nobody has a preggers cat. I just feel bad because the mother might come back looking for them, and they won't be there. We couldn't leave them under there though, and I think she may have abandoned them as they'd been there for two or three days! Poor little guys. ♥
