Her hand ached. How many owls had she written? Must have been about six and from the summer of goofing around and avoiding pretty much all forms of studying her hand wasn't used to the exercise. Even after six years with a quill in hand.
But six were done. Placing the seventh piece of parchment down she flexed her hand in and out before wetting the quill.
"Angelina?" Her mother's voice called from the other end of the hallway.
"I'm busy." She answered.
"What could you possibly be..." Her mother started towards the door and opened it quickly to find her daughter and her owl hunched over the desk.
"For Merlin's sake, Angelina what on earth are you doing?"
"I'm writing some letters. That's all." Her mother peered over her shoulder while rubbing the scruff under Cole's (Angie's owl) fluffy neck.
"To who?"
"National Quidditch League, a few team scouts I've read about, the usual. " The last letter she hadn't addressed to yet, and actually while her mother was above her she didn't even start to write a thing down.
"It takes.. what seven letters for that?"
"Yup." Caroline eyed her daughter curiously. "You're absolutely obsessed." She said with a laugh before leaving to room to do some work downstairs. once the door was closed she started the letter.
Dad,
I'm writing letters to the NQL and some scouts you reccomended last summer. I invited them to come and see some of our matches at school during the year for scouting opportunities.
I just wanted to thank you for the names and the help. Also, I wanted to-
Angelina stopped writing as she looked at the parchment. It sounded so cold and distant but she knew it had to be done.
I wanted to let you know that I'm going to stay with Mum at Christmas.
Take care,
Angelina.
The letter wasn't as hard as she thought. It was to the point and despite the cool nature her father would appreciate the letter itself. Hopefully he'd get the idea, but she wasn't sure. How does one go about telling your Dad you don't want to see him anymore?
The legalities was frustrating, especially since Angelina was of age now. Why he felt the need to...
Rubbing her forehead she sealed the letter and sent it off with the others, Cole out for a long evening of deliveries.
"I'm watching a movie Angelina, want to join?" Her mother called from downstairs and after making sure to leave the window open she headed out of her room and down stairs.
