Wow I havn't done a real update in a really long time. I feel like i'm pretty much the busiest person ever and thus have been very disconnected from the general whole of society outside of Toronto (except for maybe Hannah because she is awake at 4am my time which seems to be my only time to myself). I havn't been finding school very challenging and i'm having trouble staying interested in classes so basically i've joined about a gazillion clubs (which means 3..but thats for sure 3 too many). Here is a brief rundown of my clubs:
  1. Debate: probably my favourite club, mostly because we're one of the most funded clubs on campus. There are tournaments almost every weekend and U of T covers all expenses! 2 weekends ago I was at Ottawa, this past weekend there was a debate here and I had people from Yale billet with me, two weekends from now is Queens and then Guelph. It's crazy but I love it. I'm trying to build up my speaker points so that I can qualify to go to Worlds in Thailand next year (which U of T pays for!!). It's weird because every weekend I end up hanging out with the same people, but these are people from Queens and McGill and Yale and such.
  2. International Relations Society: Go to http://www.internationalrelations.ca/irshome.html and then click on 'contact us' on the left hand side. It's pretty sweet. Basically all I do is organize socials and movie nights and whatnot.
  3. UN Society: I applied for a staff position for the North American Model UN and I miraculously got it. Along with another student im heading the International Court of Justice come the NAMUN conferance this february, it's insane because i've never had a staff position before but I think its going to be fun. ICJ is a special committee too which means that people have to apply to get into it, which subsequently means I get to choose who participates in the ICJ, pretty neat.
And on top of that I have school which is pretty good. Econ, which I hate, is getting better but still completely boring. My history classes are decent but it's no Mr. Sproule and I think Ms McCrae instilled a lifelong hatred of spanish into me so i've switched to French (which is good especially if I ever decide to go into politics).

Also, everyone needs to get facebook so we can keep in touch better! Janet I am thoroughly surprised that you dont have it yet because it is the ultimate for creeping! I'll be back in Edmonton on about Dec. 17th and I really want to see everyone. Don't lose touch!!
