Lost Merlin Fic - Immortal Merlin Adopts Girl, Setting World War?
Hi! I read this fic a while ago and just can't find it anymore for some reason... I remember that in this fic, Merlin is immortal. It's World War One (Or Two?) and he is a soldier I think. He finds a girl in a collapsing building, the rest of her family is dead. I think her name was Bonnie Bennett? He decides to adopt her and poses as her "brother". Later, she is attacked by bullies and Merlin defends her. There was a phoenix? She knows he is "The Merlin", at that point. Then, after she gets a serious boyfriend and marries him, Merlin becomes thd family secret and it puts a strain on their kids. The fic then details the kid's relationships with Merlin and their lives. One of them has a difficult relationship with Merlin because he told his friends about Merlin, but that gets resolved by the time they are adults. The fic ends with the implication that Arthur has returned. Ring any bells? :')
