CELEGORM!!

Who was in charge of this child? WHO WAS SUPPOSED TO BE SUPERVISING THIS CHILD AND INSTEAD LET THEM ROAM AROUND THE CITY BUILD AN EFFIGY OF STRAW AND SET IT ON FIRE UNTIL IT CONSUMED HALF A BLOCK OF HOUSES ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF THE CITY?

That's right. A half a block. You all got to sleep last night, nice and warm in your cozy beds, but ( Read more... )

BUT DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT OR HELP REPAIR THE DAMAGE YOUR KINSMAN DID. IT DIDN'T DIRECTLY AFFECT YOU SO WHY BOTHER?

No, no, we'll help. We can pay for the damage. Can't we? Mother, please say we can. I know Formenos had big, fuck off treasuries, please say we can help out. I've been a little out of the loop re:the family finances. :S

*takes him aside*

I told you and I told your mother that if he showed any signs of being the demon spawn kind of elf he was before that I would be given no choice but to send him away to be fostered until he reached his majority, or even worse, exile to Formenos like your father. He is proving himself to be a hazard and a danger to the people in this city, and this is without a murderous oath to fuel him. Do you understand why I am reacting like this? I wish I could simply say it was a case of 'boys will be boys', but his past history is not helping. And before you make a point that he is a new person, I will make the point that he is not showing any signs of redeeming his crimes of the past. He may be only a child, but a dangerous child can grow into a dangerous adult. Are we clear on this?

*is hurt but knows she deserves it*

*sighs and hands you a small box full of jewelry*

I know this isn't much, but please, use it for the newly homeless people?

Planning on trapping them inside and having them live inside the stone? Don't waste your jewels. The city can take care of it. But make sure this doesn't happen again. Care for Celegorm.

I concede that he's...a handful but I'll also question how this could have been prevented short of locking him up 24 hours a day. It's easy to say what should have been done after the fact but up until now he hadn't committed any crimes. Why shouldn't he have had the freedoms that the other elflings had? That would have been assuming the worst of him and that would have been wrong. He deserved his second chance.

But, yes, I see that he blew his second chance and I assure you action will be taken.

I'm quite sure he didn't intend this much damage, it was an accident, I'm convinced of it. I'll get to the bottom of this, I promise.

I would be given no choice but to send him away to be fostered until he reached his majority, or even worse, exile to Formenos like your father.

*ulps* :'(

It should have been prevented in your home. Telling him such acts of wanton vandalism are wrong. I may be his 'sane uncle Narf' but I WILL take it upon myself to punish him if you or your mother do not. End of discussion.
