Today I did:
Three things.
1) Wore rubber rain boots for the first time since I was 10 or so. I bought the boots yesterday. They are rain boots with high heels for suave grown-up ladies. Black with yellow polka dots. Oh yeah.
2) Bought weird new vegetables for the first time. One is taro, which I've had in restaurants but never cooked myself, and I forget what the other is called. It's a big waxy white tube-shaped parsnip-like thing that was between durian and lemongrass at the supermarket.
3) Made a Fellowship leaf brooch out of a beer can and nail polish. It's this new technique I'm working on. I call it metalworking for noobs and cheapskates. The brooch turned out pretty good, so now my plan is to redo the Gil-galad gorget out of materials way more respectable than fiber clay: craft foam and beer cans.
