I just got home from work. It's 11:30pm and I just got home from work. On a normal day, I would be home around 10pm because the mall where I work closes at 9pm. Why do you ask am I home so late? It's because the gate at the front of the store decided not to work tonight. It would get down til about 10 inches from the floor and wouldn't budge after that. Pam and I tried a couple of times to get it to work. We stopped trying when I heard a cracking noise and a little metal piece fell down. A metal piece that should have been straight was instead bent and twisted. We called Sue (the store manager) and DWM and mall security and let everyone know what was happening. Sue came in and someone was sent to fix the damn thing. The gate is 12 years old and has only been worked on once before. Well, Sue came in and informed us that if the guy couldn't fix it, she would have to spend the night. How much would that suck? The gate man finally showed up around 10:15 and started working on it. He was able to fix it temporarily but he'll probably have to come in again to solve the problem. The entire time Sue kept on saying "Of course this would happen 6 weeks before we close. I only needed it to last another 8 weeks...." Who says working at a bookstore is boring?
