Look Before you Leap
Ok so Monday I was napping and I woke up around 6 pm. My bed is raised, so I jumped off it to get down. and I landed on my silverware set. yeah, which includes metal knives and forks, multiple untensils, man. so my left heel got the brunt of it. and it bled and it was gross, so i just covered it up with a band-aid.
haha, yeah so the next day, on the 'advice' of my parents, i went to the clinic. so i was laying on my stomach, heel up in the air. and the doctor just goes at it man. like he 'unrolled' the skin that had gotten all yucky during the puncturing. which hurt like a bitch, mind you. then , and oh it doesn't end there... they put three sharp pointy long needles into my f-ing wound. yeah, thanks. i did all i could to restrain myself from moving my heel, but my right leg was swinging back and forth, back and forth wildly. oh it's like those shots you get when you're little and you just cry cause it hurts so damn bad. well i didn't cry, but i was mad. so then they decided to give me a tetanus shot too. yay! my arm still hurts a lil.
and though all the initial pain does suck, what sucks just as well is having to wear sneakers every day now bc when you're wearin sandals and the part under your foot comes up and hits your heel everytime. yeah that sucks....
in other news, last night i went to a documentary screening of the lost boys of sudan. it was really good. it was about some of the sudanese refugees that came to the US and the ones that were stuck back in kenya. there's programs here to help acclamate them to the US, but it's too long a commitment for me cause yeah i live in maine.
first football game is tonight, if it stopped raining that is. yeah i know, it rained here some. it's weird cause it'll still be sunny during downpours.
one last news bit, there's a frosh at asu with my name! so if you ever send me stuff it's prob best to be like 'Sarah TESS Slagle' bc they're gonna screw up at the ups store. our ups store kinda sucks.
