Brown eyes continuously scanned the area for a familiar person as the teenager ran at high speed through the park. Hayner had allowed himself to become distracted with the town and the device, so now he had to make up for some of the lost time by running. Weaving through the crowds, the blonde frowned slightly. Were all of these people from other worlds? Hayner found that a little difficult to believe. Slowing to a job before finally coming to a stop, he let out a frustrated sigh. This entire situation was stupid, in his opinion. Of course, there was nothing that could be done about it, for now. He had decided that he would simply... go with it, until he figured something out. There was no reason to overstress himself, right
( ... )
Roxas pouted slightly as he kept looking around. All of these people were starting to bother him, and truthfully, he wasn’t that big a fan of crowds in the first place. When Hayner approached him, he smiled widely. “It’s ok! This place is huge!” he replied, making a move to step off the bench. But grace wasn’t anything he was exactly gifted with, so his foot caught on the bench and Roxas started falling face first to the ground.
His eyes widened as the other began to fall. He instantly acted on instinct, rushing forward to catch the other. Fortunately, he was quick enough. However, he was still just a boy (and gravity was still a formidable foe), so the weight of the other knocked Hayner backwards onto the ground.
After landing on his bottom, Hayner let out a sigh-like groan before frowning at Roxas. If that had not been... slightly adorable, Hayner would have pointed out how much of a klutz Roxas could be. Actually, he decided to do that, anyway. The fact that Hayner was laughing, took out any sort of anger from the words, though.
Roxas grumbled as he sat up, knowing the words were all too true. “Yeah yeah…” He quickly scrambled off of his friend when he realized he’d been sitting on his knees, and offered his hand to help Hayner up. He was smiling again, feeling a bit grateful he’d been caught. There was no way he was going to get himself hurt if he could help it.
“How do you like the town? Kinda reminds you of back home, right?”
A slight grin appeared on his face at the 'Yeah yeah'. Sometimes Roxas was too cute for his own good. When Hayner saw the hand offered to him, he reached up and accepted it. Once he was back on his feet, he dusted himself off just a bit. After the questions were asked, Hayner smiled and nodded, before speaking.
"Yeah, it does!" He let out a short laugh, "It's a little strange, if you ask me."
“Strange?” Roxas asked, not all too sure what he meant by that. It was a town, full of pretty friendly people, and it had the ambiance of a sleepy little village, kinda like Twilight Town had. Sure, he missed all the kids being around, but that was remedied by Hayner being here now. “I guess it’s strange… there’s no tram here, and these people have never heard of any of the stuff from our world except the food…” He suddenly lit up and pointed to a nearby shop. “I found a place with sea-salt ice cream! Can you believe it?!”
He blinked a little and looked in the direction in which Roxas was pointing. His eyes lit up, as well and a smile instantly appeared on his face. Sea Salt ice cream? That was definitely a good thing to have! That plus his best friend? For the moment, Hayner was sure he would be able to handle staying here. For a little while, at least.
Leading the way already, Roxas ducked into the shop. He lifted the lid off of the ice chest and grabbed two, holding one out to Hayner. “Here ya go~” he chirped and started eating his own.
This was one thing the blonde couldn’t live without, in his opinion, but he would never tell Hayner that this was the first thing he looked for when arriving here. Not only would it be embarrassing, but he didn’t want to hurt the others feelings. But he seriously did love this stuff.
Roxas was really tempted to take another one, but he didn’t want to be teased about it. The question made him look up and shake his head. “Nah… I wasn’t really thinking about finding a place.”
He ruffled his hair and looked outside. “There’s a hotel, and a lot of empty apartments. I guess I’ll just take one of those!”
The blonde thought a moment, before speaking, "We should move in together! Seeing as there's this crazy killer on the loose, and all... Plus, I think we should stick together!"
Hayner nodded, as though emphasizing his point. He neglected to add the fact that he simply wanted to live with Roxas, though.
“Move in together?” Roxas blinked and looked at his friend, tilting his head a bit. It sounded like a good idea, especially since there was a killer around. He still wasn’t all too sure if Hayner had made that up or not, but he’d seen other mentions of this guy now. Made it a bit more credible.
After a few more minutes of random thoughts, he smiled and nodded. “Sure! Sounds great!”
At first, Hayner was just a little worried that Roxas would say 'no'. A hint of the worry was visible, for a just a moment as he watched Roxas consider the offer. It actually started to feel like time had slowed time, as he waited somewhat impatiently for an answer.
Once Roxas finally agreed, though, Hayner smiled happily and nodded.
Looking left, then right, Roxas then started towards the right, which was the way to the hotel. He'd seen some promising places in that area, and he was sure that Hayner didn't mind it if he took the lead in this expedition. After all, he'd ben here a few more days than his best friend, and to Roxas' pride, it did matter.
"I think there are a few places with two rooms! And close to the stores too. Great, right?"

"Geez, Roxas! You're such a klutz!"

The boy grinned happily as he took the ice cream happily. He instantly began eating it, a very content expression on his face as he did so.
Once they had both finished eating the ice cream, Hayner looked down in thought.
"So... have you found a place to live, yet?"
