The Academy of Performing Arts was robbed on the evening of March 8, 2006.
The robbers broke in through the dance studio and took all of our electronic equipment (2 office computers, Digital camcorder, and stereo sound system, etc.) They ransacked the whole administration building, breaking several locks (our safe, candy cabinet, cash register, payment drop box and petty cash box.) They also stole all the money collected from our dance classes and raised by our wonderful children for the Children's Performance class presentation of Little Red Riding Hood (almost $1,000.00) This money was earmarked to pay our March rent.
They even stole the candy that we sell at our evening shows.
This break-in has been devastating to our theatre. We do carry liability insurance but we are not covered for theft, the premiums we simply too much for us carry. Without the sound system we cannot continue our dance classes. Without the computer we have no accounting records. Without the digital camcorder we cannot successfully continue our film class.
We are in desperate need of your help.
An account has been opened at Zion's Bank for any who would like to contribute to the Academy to help us recover from this tragedy. We are also performing "The Magician's Nephew" every Friday, Saturday, and Monday evening at 7:30 pm - The box office opens at 7:00pm. If you are unable to donate to the fund at Zion's Bank perhaps you would support us by coming to the show.
Every dollar earned will help us get back on our feet.
Thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
Robyn Adamson
