Been feeling restless lately, really restless. Not in the sense of needing to move around or anything, just in the sense of needing to go somewhere. Somewhere far away. I want to travel.
Guess the real clincher came when I was sitting in the Astor lounge watching the news and I got caught up in some of the homework I was doing so I forgot the TV and it ran over into one of those feel-good home makeover shows. Seeing the looks on everyone's faces while they were working on the house and then the excitement of the family was really eye-opening. I want to do that. Only I want to do that in a distant country.
Called Mom today and talked to her about it and also Christmas (Jane, you're cool). She said she'd talk to some of our distant family, see if they'd support sending me somewhere with a volunteer org over the summer. I'd have to come up with about half of the needed expenses, but I got no problem with that.
The thought makes me feel less restless already.
