Those are the main things I try to use when making icons, I'm not too good with using textures on such a small scale.

Ohbyes... I don't usually go for the negative space ones, but you've made it WORK for the icon, it's lovely.

And the candlestick of doom made me giggle muchly :)

Colouring is one of the main things I do with icons, I like doing it quite a lot actually =D
