Hi! I'm a geek.

So I've been playing Final Fantasy 5 in my spare moments. For those of you familiar with the game, I'm on Galuf's world, getting ready to head into Moore's Forest. For those of you not familiar with the game, I think I'm about halfway through.

As I've described elsewhere, this game's mechanics hinge on progressing through and mastering a series of jobs, which are FF staples like the Knight, the Monk, the Black Mage, etc. The jobs are pretty easily grouped into three categories (warriors, casters, and skill) with some healthy bleed from one group into the others (such as the Red Mage, the Geomancer, etc).
When you reach a new level in a job, you get a skill from said job that you can take with you to other jobs. Unfortunately you can only utilize one skill at a time, except under certain circumstances usually reserved for later in the game.

Anyway, I just completed mastering the job of Hunter with one of my characters. With the mastered Hunter, you get the ability Sshot, which does four attacks at half power. Thinking this would be fun, I linked this up with the character now as a Monk (who normally do two bare-handed strikes). Said Monk delivered what appeared to be eight 3/4 powered attacks, including no less than three critical strikes, which decimated a party of four monsters in one round when it would have normally taken about four.
