So this weekend kicked some serious ass...
Friday, I got my tattoo touched up at 4, was done by 5, it's lookin' awesome again... Went to the K for a few drinks with a buncha people lol... We were supposed to Jam with Mike on Bass, but he couldn't make it, so Jesse, Darrin and I did a quick runthrough and then us, Kelly and Ginnette ended up going to the Marion... Ran into Dave, a friend of Angela's family, it was pretty unexpected... Drank quite a bit, had some great convo, crashed around 4...
Saturday Mike came down around 2, we rehearsed the set 3 times and got everything ready, we were on our way to Niverville around 5:30 with Holly, her friend, her brother, Ginnettes kids, Angela and Liam (Mikes gf and son) and Kelly (Plus the band obviously)...
We arrived, had some beers, there was a crazy light and sound set-up and the stage is huge, there was alot of improv jamming and 3 bands...
Angela, her kids and Darko came down, Travis, his gf and their kids, and I met alot of Holly's family, Ginnettes bro and his family, the dudes who brought out the equipment and many of Ron's (Holly's dad, it his property and stage) friends...
Cops came down around 25 after 10 due to a nise complaint, but we were told we had til 11 so it was no big deal, plus one of them is a Bass player who knows Ron and was asking to play next time lol...
We went on about 10:30 and were done by 11 as our time dictated, but it was perfect as we played the 5 tunes we got... There were some awesome fuckin' pictures taken and we got a ridiculous ammount of positive feedback, it was a great time...
Around 12 it started raining, so Darko, Kelly and I and a few others helped the stage guys get everything inside... Ended up completely soaked, nothing a dozen more beers didn't help lmao... We drank a fuckload that night after the set, were up til about 5... We camped out in tents in the yard...
Sunday Angela 'n' Darko and the kids woke us up around 10, so we had a couple beers, cleaned what we could and hung out all day... Holly's family was kind enough to give us breakfast, we hung out til about 2:30 and came back to the city...
It was a great time and inspired me alot, been feeling like I'm on an adrenaline rush since and feel privilaged to have such great friends and bandmates...
Haven't done fuck all since I got home around 6 yesterday, so I guess that's it for this post...
