Who is ZZ Top...?
Chicago is so much fun! I just finished getting ready to go and Tim is running some quick errands while I wait. Today we are going to the city (he lives in one of the burbs) and we are just going to chill around I guess. Going to Build a Bear at Navy Pier (we did this last year about this time, I'm smelling a tradition!), then an interactive museum, food, not necessarily in that order.
Yesterday we went to a Brooks and Dunn/ZZ Top Concert. We got there a little late (around 7:25) and I hear a song playing from the outdoor amphitheater... I identified the song... but I'm all 'neither band sings that song... that's a Rodney Atkins song!'
Rodney was there.
CRYYYY!!!!!!!!!! HE FRIGGIN ROCKS!!! AND I MISSED IT!!!!
Brooks and Dunn was good. Tim got me a beer o.o and it was big, so I started getting a little tipsy from that. It was kinda humorous, but it was mainly so I could stay relaxed in such a huge crowd (lots of people around me makes me feel very very anxious). I remember some old guy in front of me and Tim (in the lawn area, not in regular seating) kept looking at me. We stayed for all of Brooks and Dunn... I'm surprised that I only DIDN'T know one of the songs they played. We stayed for the start of ZZ Top but Tim and I knew we probably wouldn't like it and we wanted to beat the crowd out of the parking lot.
Finding his car was hell. There were no markers, no anything to identify where the heck his car was! So not cool! The only thing we could remember is that we were *slightly* to the right of this big, faraway sign. I also remembered that within the makeshift parking lot, there wasn't a whole lot of room in the aisle we were in (I didn't think there would be enough room to get out!). So Tim and I are searching, not having much luck... and all of a sudden another guy pulls out pretty close to us. Not like he was going to run us over because he was going the other direction... but he speeded off and a bunch of loose gravel shot out at us. OWWW!!! Finally I split off from Tim and *I* found his car!! WEEE!!! That made me happy.
We went back to his house because it was earlier than anticipated (we were originally going to go to his Aunt's house). We started watching a movie but I immediately crashed on the couch. I slept there until 7 this morning until I moved to his sister's room because the dogs were driving me nuts.
The ride to his place (from MN to IL) was interesting. I have Twilight on my iPod so Tim and I were listening to that. He likes it ^^ YAY! He's going to come see the movie with me. God I'm sooo obsessed. I was telling his mom about it yesterday and she said she was interested in reading it. I think I'm going to get it for her today as a gift. Spread the joy of Twilight! I also have to find a small gift for his dad, cause we are celebrating his birthday tomorrow. After that we are going home, because I have to *try* and do some homework.
I'm bushed. Where the heck are you Timmy???!??
