So, I wandered into a semi-random street fair today. I first heard about it from reading an away message, and after wantering around campus to see if I wasn't halucinating, I walked a mile onto 4th avenue. Now this street is normally for the bar scene only, and in fact I think I've only been on it once during the daytime, but this weekend supposedly it was home to a massive 3 mile long double sided street fair (it seems there is one every season). I perused the hundreds of booths and there were people showing at the fair from as far as key west (no street fairs in Florida perhaps?). Their booth was an array of "vacuum flatened" beer bottles...something I wouldn't have thought of in a million years. There was everthing there from eight-millians forms of artwork, to dog hats to side tables made out of discarded musical instruments...very interesting mix of people too. You had the standard college scene, whole families and caravans of old people.
During the fair I had the most makeshift of lunches too...roasted corn on the cob (with artificial butter), a small fry and an egg roll...
..it turned out to be a very cool atmosphere...
Anyway, I have no idea why I wanted to write about it but here it is....
P.S. I should've work sun screen
