A day of dread....
I think Valentine's day is the ultimate exclusionist holiday. Despite being Jewish, at least on Christmas, I was able to enjoy a meal with the landlord and her family, who do celebrate the holiday. However, with Valentine's day, if your not in a relationship, you kinda get screwed. I know there are like a million other single people who are lambasting the celebration as we speak, but mine is not a gripe against the concept,just one against the way it makes those not involved feel.
Maybe next year at this time I will be enjoying the company of a soul mate, and therefore be on the other side of the coin, but right now I feel like an outsider shivering in the rain, looking into a window where everyone else is having a party to which I am not invited.
