What is with gardening at Mom's and cats in need?

Today while gardening at Mom's house, a tuxedo kitten, about 6 months old, wandered into the yard and settled down by my feet to eat grass. She was friendly but a little bit skittish. She's definitely been raised around people but was still an outdoor cat. Mom came down and saw her and asked me if I thought she belonged to anyone. She was clean but skinny and had no tags so I don't think she does. So off she went to the vet for tests. But, however the tests come back, there will be a happy ending. If Friskie (Mom already named her after the first family cat we had, whom she resembles) tests negative, she goes to live with Mom and Cleo Kitty. If she tests positive, she goes to live with Harry and Lucky, who already tests positive. Either way, this kitty has a home. :)
