The time on Liam's newly repaired Rolex is now 10:13 PM!!!!!
Thanks to my friend T's brother, the watch is working again! Fucking A! Tourneau couldn't do it, Rolex wouldn't do it but he found someone who could. One of the conditions I had placed on fixing it was that as little as possible be replaced. Rolex had told me that everything with the exception of the mechanism needed replacing. The only things that really needed replacing were the crystal, hands and some gears. The rest was cleaned, polished and repaired and all the damaged parts were returned to me. No, I do not have a perfect watch. There are scratches on the face and very slight marks on the bracelet and you can see that the clasp had been damaged and that is the way it should be. But it is still Liam's watch. You have no idea how much it means to me to have this watch working. He loved this watch very much and when I first gave it to him for our 10th anniversary, he spent weeks asking me to ask him the time. This watch brought him a lot of joy. I feel like I have a piece of him back.
