Thoughts

Tomorrow is a lot of things to a lot of people. For some, it is a day of remembrance. For others, it is a day filled with longing and painful memories. For others still, it is just a day. Tomorrow, AMPAC (American Muslim Political Action Committee) and its supporters will be marching un Washington D.C. in the Million American March Against Fear, formerly known as the Million Muslim March. In response, Bikers across the nation have organized the 2 Million Biker ride. The bikers were denied a permit so instead of doing a short ride with a pre-determined route, they will be converging upon the city and riding through it all day while obeying all traffic rules. Sigh. I fully support AMPAC's message of peace and rights for all, regardless of skin color, and understand why they chose 9/11 and yet I can't agree with that choice. I disagree with marching on D.C. on 9/11 because I feel enough blood has been shed that day. If we do actually have 3 million people converging on D.C. tomorrow, it would be hard to imagine a peaceful day. I fear for AMPAC and its members; I fear for the bikers and I fear for the memories of those lost that day.

Tonight, Howard and I will be heading down to the midnight Harley Owner's Group Run to pay our respects. This year, Bree chose to join us and she will be riding with a friend of ours. That is how this family will mark Liam's death and the deaths of all the others who died there.

Not sure, if I'll be posting tomorrow. I'm praying for no bloodshed. Whatever you do tomorrow, make it count and enjoy the day. Life's too short not to enjoy it.

liam, 9/11
