Dad taught by example. Some of it, like not going to the doctor when we should, hasn't served us well but the rest is very, very useful. He was a good man and a great father. I'm lucky to have had him as my dad.

Boy does that all sound familiar. My maiden name is Grim so maybe all those things are German traits. Here's some more that I got. "Pull yourself up by the boot straps" that's when things seem so defeating. "When times get tough the tough keep going." "You never lay down on the job". "You never run from anything." Just a few. But they all serve me well to this day.

Lots of that sounds familiar. The list I posted was far from complete, I just couldn't summon all of Dad's wisdom from my brain.
