Well, we are all safe but Queens looks like a bomb hit it. It seems quite likely that a tornado made it's way through the area, ripping off roofs and knocking down, trees, phone and light poles and power lines plus one electrical transformer we saw. Streets were blocked, bus lines, trains and subways were shut down and we were without power for about 24 hours. The park near my house was hit quite badly but my favorite tree is somehow still standing. Neither my mother's or my house took any damage and all of the clan are safe. But damn that was one scary storm. It ripped through in about 10 minutes and left major damage that will take weeks to clean up. My heart is breaking for all the beautiful, old trees that were torn apart by the winds and rain and will have to be cut down. Pretty scary, indeed.
