Okay, we have water again and the house is once again warmed up (thawed up?). So... Åland. Mariehamn. The Nipop Festival.
Yup, was a festival worker this weekend, and for the first time getting paid for it. I've done festivals before and only gotten a meal and a free pass for my troubles. I don't know how much we're getting paid, but... Nice change of pace, really.
Nipop was an event aimed to a younger audience, mainly 15-18-year olds, but with both younger and older people there. The bands were all in their teens as well, from Sweden, Åland and Finland, and I must say that they kicked some serious ass. It ranges from sort of world/folk music to happy-happy-joy-joy indie-pop-punk to powermetal. So here's some bands worth checking out:
