I hate this time of the year. There's something of a storm going on outside. Cold and wet and dark and depressing. It seems even worse out here in the countryside than I think it should. Maybe I should stop staring out through this foggy window, out on the muddy yard where a few brown leaves still cling to the trees even with the very unkind winds ( Read more... )

Yeah, I really hate it too :/ It's just so depressing. When it gets snowy it gets cold, but at least everything isn't so gray and muddy anymore, and the snow is at least pretty.

Putting everything together, you sound like you need a vacation in Gävle :)

When I can afford the train over, then yeah, I'd say it's a great idea.

Hmm, I'm currently in a spot where it's rained 12 days out of the last 14... and I'm loving it, honestly. Maybe it's just the rain's pattering putting me to sleep, maybe the fact that I've been living in a desert for the past 2 1/2 years, but I just can't get enough!

All these evergreen trees sure are nice, too. But many of the other trees still have plenty of leaves on them. And it shall be face-stuffing time in a week... Hmm.

As none of this is particularly likely to help, let me ask. Does your place have a fireplace?

I usually don't mind rain, at least not when it's raining properly. It's this light drizzle that never gives up that I have a problem with, especially when it's just one celsius above freezing. Add harsh winds to that and you have a winner.

I usually say that I was born on the wrong continent. Can't stand winter and cold. But truthfully, actual winter would be an improvement to this. At least the mud would freeze.

And no, no fireplace. Not as such, at least.
