So I've been bitching about my work for a long time now, perhaps it's time I wrote a bit about the positive sides.
Malin. I know you get a lot of shit from the boss, and that the older waitresses try to walk all over you. But you rock. I do your job well, and you have good ideas for change, even if these aren't received well by the others who are too used to doing things the same way year after year. You always have a smile for tho customers, and you're always nice to talk to. Best of luck with whatever you do after this season.
Therese. You really should have my position as head bartender. You know more and you're more experienced than I am. You kick ass, and you do it with a smile. Thank you for showing up and saving my ass on several occasions.
Also, do you have any idea who fun it is to ogle the few good-looking guys we get up there and giggle like a school-girl with you? I'm really going to miss you.
Anders. It's really a shame that you have no interest if running the restaurant, I think you would make a great boss. You know the place in and out, you know how to take necessary short-cuts without cutting back on quality. You're easily the best chef we have.
But I can't blame you for not wanting to run the place. I wouldn't want to deal with the administrative crap either.
Thomas. I can count the times I've seen or heard you angry on one hand, and still have fingers to spare. You're always smiling and joking. Everytime I show up with a problem or a tricky order, you just grin and say "No problem! I got it!" And you get it done, you do it well and you do it quickly. You're a joy to work with.
Oh, and whenever you're in the kitchen, I don't have to be plagued by bad music. I get treated to good music instead. Many thanks for that.
Lena. The place would fall apart without you.
Eva. Many many thanks for your supportive words and sympathetic ear. I know you're just as tired as I am.
The nice and polite customers. Thank you for proving me wrong when I think that everyone is a complete idiot. Those of you who are patient, and say "Hey, it's okay. Don't worry about it" whenever I happen to screw up, you have saved me from quite a few anxiety-attacks during these three seasons.
And if you happen to be good tippers, I'll love you even more. But, hey, I'll settle for a bit of ego-stroking too. A smile and a simple comment about good service (if you got it, which I always try my best to give), that will go a long way.
