I've now settled in in my new room. Much more space here, better view, and I have my own bathroom. Much joy.
Tomorrow I start the long and yucky process of glacé tanning goat kids. This will involve chicken manure at some point. But hey, the end result will probably be very nice, so I can deal. The goal is very soft and bright white leather, depending a bit of course on the color of the hides. The kids were a bit spotty.
The hides are now thawing up after having been in my mom's freezer during the summer.
The blacksmiths are going away for a few days to make preparations to produce charcoal. It will be sort of quiet without them, I think.
