     Homing pigeons are finding their way around Britain by following roads and railways, zoologists claim. "That's the exciting thing, because we knew then there was something more important to them than just saving energy."
     If the birds were also following rivers, I would buy this. But the fact that air pressure over roads is higher than over fields and forests means that the birds are in fact saving energy by using these human routes. Anyone who has studied elementary physics or has travelled by small airplane knows this.
