It turns out I'll be airborne while the Breaking Bad FeLiNa airs. (Yes, I caught the cute name and made the connection easily and wasn't surprised to see that others saw it too). I'm considering wearing a bag over my head as I walk through the terminal at MSY, just in case.
Just some ideas:
The heavy artillery is for Todd and his gang. That's fairly obvious.
In the shootout, either Todd or Uncle Jack will escape (probably Todd) and go after Walt's family. Jesse will help in the shootout, getting his own revenge in the process (which is one reason I think Uncle Jack will escape and not Todd) and Walt, who always had this odd fatherly feeling for Jesse, won't kill him. I'm pretty certain Walt would never actually kill Jesse up close and personal, but we'll see. If he doesn't, we'll get another of Walter's patented pedantic rants before he sets Jesse free. Or, like Mike, the rant will lead to an accidental death for Jesse. But, I like the story better if Jesse lives, because...
...Jesse will go after Brock and "rescue" him by leaving a ton of cash with Brock's grandmother (who probably has guardianship) before heading for the hills with the aid of The Vacuum Guy (I loved the casting choice there, by the way). He might even take Brock along. That will be the only "happy ending" in the series.
The escaped Todd will manage to make it to Walt's family and he will dispatch Skyler and Walt Jr., but Walt will get Todd before he gets to Holly.
Then, Walt will pay a visit to Elliot & Gretchen, whose interview put him on this track of revenge in the first place. Ever since the lunch scene with Gretchen I've always felt that Walt holds them personally responsible for the mess his life has become. Right or wrong, it's what he thinks. In this showdown, we'll get another pedantic rant that puts his tortured mind on display as he terrorizes them for a while, but in the end, he'll leave the scene, leaving Holly behind for them to raise.
I figure the ricin is either for Lydia or himself, but I can't really see a way that they can work Lydia into this final episode unless she happens to be at the ranch with Todd and his gang when the shootout begins. The only alternative I can think of is that Walt somehow induces her into a meeting in the wake of the shootout under the premise of cooking again, and he slips it into her tea during the meeting. I can't imagine Lydia is that stupid, but, you never know. (One thing that occurs to me is that I don't think Walt knows where Todd's ranch is and he'd need Lydia to help him find it, so the meeting with her may be the opening scene that sets up the rest, and he dumps the ricin on her anyway. We'll get a shot of her dying a few days later near the end. Probably in a humorous way that suits her personality.)
I simply can't see Walt getting killed unless it's at the hands of one of his family members, and this kind of rules out Jesse as the culprit. If Skyler or Junior aren't taken out by Todd, then it will likely be one of those two who does it, and my money would be on Walt Jr. Otherwise, Marie will get the honors, and when it happens, it will be at a moment after Walt marginally redeems himself by sparing Elliot & Gretchen, and it will be sudden and unexpected. That's the Shakespearean conclusion. If no one kills him, he'll just crawl back to his cave in New Hampshire and cough himself to death. Somehow, I think Walt has to get what's coming to him, though, and it's definitely going to be a family member who does it. After all, he did it all for his family.
But, a little part of me doesn't think that the Shakespeare formula will be followed in this ending. True, the whole series has closely followed the proper arc of the tragedy, but I think the writers have other plans.
Final scene is of Saul in Nebraska working as a sales clerk in some electronics store, working his magic for a 20% commission.
The End.
This is a fun one to guess. So many possibilities...However, I was absolutely correct about the "cut to black" ending of The Sopranos, so at least I have that one under my belt. I'll be in total blackout Sunday until I find out if I'm right about any of this.
