Walking with Witches and other tales

Aaah well nearly finished my first week off and here is what I've been doing so far:

Fri - Went out with work to the Slug & Lettuce, had a Reggea Reggae Chicken burger, mmm, must buy some sauce of my own! Got very trollied, highlight of the night was Matt laughing and accidentally knocking a tray full of drinks out of a waitresses hands!!

Saturday - Marf had returned to see Mum, her and Dad went to Liverpool Mac shopping. Scott and I kept Mum company and did the shopping. Went to meet Marf in Liverpool and we went to the Ma Bo (best Chinese EVER, been going all my life). Then to the Static Gallery to see Suzi's new band and supports. Met the band, all very nice. First band was very dodgy, a drummer and a lad with a Wii controller that made silly 'wwhhhaaooomm' sounds, hmmm! Then Mugstar were on, quite a bit like Hawkwind but without direction. Il Goblini (Suzi's) were on next, they fo covers of the band Goblin who did 70s horror soundtracks for the likes of Dario Argento, effing brilliant!!

Sunday - think there was a lot of mooching in general, had a lovely roast dinner. Marf went but gave me her iPod as she got a new one with her Mac, score! Watched No Country for Old Men which was rubbish, oscar my arse!

Monday - Scott and I went to Shrewsbury for a bit, looked very nice and it was a lovely day. Castle/museum was closed thoug, boo! Home for dinner and more mooching I think!

Tuesday - headed to Scott's via Liverpool to get some guitar cable and it took for-bloody-ever! Got to Scott's and saw Becky and Andy, had some drinks and watched Pierrepoint which was excellent!

Wednesday - Scott and I went to Pendle for a bit of witch hunting! Went to Barrowford Heritage Museum which had lots about the history of the area and the witch trials. The bloke in the shop was really helpful and gave us leaflets and directions. Went to Witches Galore and got the best tea-towel ever, sounds sad I know but it's amazing! Then we headed for Pendle Hill itself and did the mammoth trek to the top (three days later and my calves are still in agony). The views were great and there was actually cloud rolling across the top of the hill!
think I shall have to head back that way, lots more to do I think!

Headed home and Scott made the best burgers ever. Had a well deserved rest! Gaz came round and we all watched Uncle Buck and Who framed Roger Rabbit!

Thursday - lazy day, went for a stroll around Southport town and looked in all the book shops :) Didn't get anything though, am currently hunting for things I saw online ;) Came back and chatted to Becky lots when Scott went to the gym. Scott made us a mixed grill and we had a quiet eve in! Quite nice this relaxing malarkey haha!

Friday - was a terrible day as I discovered when I woke up at 11 that AC/DC tickets had gone on sale at 10 and had entirely sold out by the time I tried :( damn me for not looking at the internet for three days, NOOoOOOOOOOOooOoO Currently hoping more dates will be announced/figuring how much I am willing to pay to get a ticket from ripp-off bastard touts! Anyway, headed back to mine later in the day (I did feel just gutted all day), dropped Scott off at practice and went to mine. My Uncle John and Aunty Ann were visiting which was nice, just sat in chatting to them and parents until I fetched Scott from the station.

Today - another lazy day on the whole. Nipped to the port for shopping and got a pair of black jeans for a tenner from New Look! Quick peek around Borders before Scott and I did a bit of internetting in the afternoon (sounds like a song!!). Had Goa goodness this eve and am planning to crack open the scrumpy. Calves are feeling better so I'm hoping for a bit more intrepidness next week, and Whitby, yay!

aching, holiday, slobbing, pendle
