6 years, lots of walking and general goodness
I have completely neglected LJ for the past couple of weeks, tsk! So highlights it will have to be!
- Was mine and Scott;s sixth year anniversary on the 7th, went to his after work and we went out for a meal at INDIS (no pics of Indiana Jones though inside!!) which was really nice, I had a Chicken Tikka Methi and Scott of course had a Phal! Back to his for drinks and watched Zodiac which was sooo long and was about 1/2 hour of serial killing and 2 hours wild goose chase! May have to watch the other versin to see how they interpret the Zodiac killings.
- Had a day off the next day, on the bloody hottest day of the year, just my bloody luck. Went for a walk around Lydiate and looked at the small ruined abbey, not much left but there were some graves. Then went to the Botanic Gardens to walk in the shade. Was a nice day but too warm for me, 28 degrees according to the car!
- Went to Die's to watch DOOM which was really funny, it had the Vindaloo Curry Monster from Red Dwarf in it, Karl Urban, The Rock and a NOOOOOO!! Ate lots of Love Hearts and then watched some of Jack Dee with Ross Noble who we couldn't decide if he was funny or not and something about the world's tallest women.
- Went to see Kira while she continued the epic task of making wedding invitations, helped her choose fonts and just kept her company a bit!!
- Friday last week was successful as Gaz in the comic shop had managed to aquire 6 more Nightbreed comics for me, only 4 to go until I have them all!). also went to Grey & Pink and got Pulse by Pink Floyd and a double W.A.S.P CD, muhaha! Went straight out of work for a work night out, went to Harkers (boo) first and managed to get 3 pints bought for me. then went the Slug & Lettuce where they opened a tab and got us food to, it was nice but so rammed and warm, not really my sort of place. Got rather tipsy and we moved to Watergates, got off after about half an hour and shared a taxi with Janet.Scott was at mine when I got back and reports I was quite hammered, I should never start drinking on an empty stomach!
- Lazy day on Sat, did nip out briefly for Scott to get ale, back to watch the Cup Final which was quite good this year. Headed straight off afterwards to stoke-on-Trent for a gig. Didn't get lost!! Got some food and hung around in the car as we were so early. Went into the venue and chatted to the Charger lads. Didn't watch the first band and went to some dingy rock pub for a bit. Then back to see After the Last Sky in the smallest gig space I have ever seen, good though. Didn't watch Koropsky as Ben got me watching the merch, didn't mind as I felt dead tired. Then watched Charger who were fantastic again, heaviest bass sound ever!! Got given a free t-shirt with a woman vomiting on it \m/ Hung around a bit afterwards and headed home.
- Felt the need to get out and about on Sunday, cooked nice pasta and then went for a walk, zig zagging up Helsby Hill, was there perfect weather for it and there were Rhododendrons everywhere, was really nice and less knackering than climbing up the front! Tried to go see the Highland Cattle by Kira's but they weren't there, boo! Home for a nice roast dinner. Watched Dragnet, which never stops being funny - dum-du-dum dum!!
- Not a lot planned for the week, got me Sweeney Todd on DVD today, Zavvi has droolworthy postcards with its version. Also it is the semi-finals of Eurovision on Tuesday and Thursday, roll on Saturday for the final :D
