The Monstrous End of Year Update

Jan 02, 2008 18:59

It is times like these I wish I had made notes over the holidays!! Oh well here goes...

Crimbo eve - worked until 12.30 and headed straight to the pub with people from work, had a shexy turkey n stuffing panini and REALLY paced my cider drinking. Marf arrived a few hours later, followed by Tabby. Had four pints before leaving at 5ish and headed to The Boot where Neil, Julia, Huxley, Matt and others had already gathered. More pints followed in The Boot and more people arrived, Paul, Eleanor. IO spilled a pint but only because I did some stupid gesticulating! I remember eating crisps for dinner and then Die, Mark and Chris arriving. Went to The Eagle after that, saw Kev, chatted to Die about Steampunk :D Martha refused to let me go for a curry, got a taxi home and only then realised I didn't have my phone. Luckily Scott had rang it and the landlady of The Eagle had it, phew! Ate pizza. So many more fragmented memories, but I guess the best part of half a day boozing will do that!

Crimbo Actually got up at 10 and felt fine. Ate croissants and then did the presents with Mum, Dad and Marf. I got:

Off Marf: Two Spaced DVDs (I was a Spaced virgin!!)
Off Parents: Bag, Snowman Soap, The Heavy Metal Activity Book which is superb,
Off Die: A cool Metal leather bracelet and Fly By Night by Frances Hardinge which looks like its going to be very good
Off Kira - Chocs and a Pilgrim bracelet

Got some other bits and bobs to :)

Watched Nightmare Before Christmas and Spaced. Had dinner (I could live off that stuffing) and after a bit of digestion went with Marf to pick up Scott from his parent's. Was nice to see them but then headed back just in time for the Doctor Who special. Scott gave me The Omega Man DVD, chocs, Gardens of the Moon by Steve Erikson, a book on Norse Mythology and an IOU for something in the post. Watched some other stuff and then had the most ridiculously long game of Trivail Pursuit which we had to abandon!!

Boxing Day/Birthday

More goodies for me!! Scott got me LOTR Trivial Pursuit (DVD version) and a Battle Axe necklace, Marf made me Abbath in finger puppet form and an embroidered spider brooch as well as a Human League CD. Die got me The Runes of Elfland by Brian Froud which is ace, Black Death stockings and SKULL PANTS (and the best birthday card ever), Kira gave me Nightmare Before Crimbo candle holders. Went to The Eagle and retrieved my phone, so amazed that worked out! Looked in Debenhams to see if the boots I had been eying up were in the sale, they were but not in my size! Went home and played LOTR Trivial Pursuit. Later on went to Chiquitos on the Coliseum for Mexican food, I had Fajitas which were dead nice. Played Scrabble and lost, damn you J and X!

I did manage to get a cold on my brithday which was lovely! Felt pretty rough the next day too so venture to Boots for medicine. Accidently fell into Borders and bought the Nemi book and HMV and got the all 5 Omen films for £12 and Teenwolf 1/2 for Marf for £3!

On the Friday we went back to Scott's, went to Debenhams and got the boots (knee-high leather flats with a lace up back) went out for a curry and the Taj Mahal which was very nice, back to the flat and didn't intend on going out but Gaz and then Kat came round and after a few glasses of wine decided it was a good idea to go to Fubar. Didn't stay long really, don't think wine and vodka mix well!

Took it quite easy on Saturday, can't quite remember what we did. Did watch Transformers the Movie later on though and had a quiet night in.

On On Sunday we went to see I Am Legend which was alright but the vampires were SO CGI it was ridiculous, what is wrong with using actors, there's nothing scary about CGI vampires with giant mouths?! Did see a new Sweeney Todd trailer!!! I still have to see The Golden Compass too damnit! Then we got the train to Liverpool to go The Swan to meet up with Pete, Ste, Dave T, Maria, Neil and a few more. Was a good night and had a good laugh, got the train back and 'accidently' got a pizza to eat on the way.

On New Years Eve we decided against going out and just went back to mine, had some booze and party food and that suited us just fine. Mum made Scott come in the house with coal and say some Scottish stuff hahaha! Was good to stay in as its usually such a let down going out and costs a fortune getting home.

New Years Day - went into Chester and walked all the way round the walls, was pretty quiet. Saw a few shops were open so went to HMV and got 'The Last Man on Earth' which we watched later (better than I Am Legend and with Vincent Price as well). Then watched some Hammer House of Horror and laughed very much at the Doppelganger episode!! Evil teeth, nooooo!

Back to work now, got some new projects coming up soon apparently, and a two day training course next week in Halifax

So that's 2007 gone, was a good year for me. When I go to the bank next I will be debt free (not counting student loan, meh) and ready to start saving to move out!

Well done if you read that, tried to keep it brief, probably missed stuff out but there you go!

swan, birthday, new year, xmas, ace presents
