[Water is dripped on the pages of the journal, soaking the paper.  The journal catches an image of a blonde woman, soaked, leaning over the book.  She's clearly terrified.]

E-Excuse me?  Hello?  Can anyone hear me?  [She doesn't know what to say, she doesn't know what to do, and she doesn't know where she is.  All she knows is that she needs help, ( Read more... )

[Pinged, so hard. She may be new herself, but that won't stop her from trying...]

Hey, where are you? Are there any landmarks or buildings nearby?

[There's a long moment of silence; she's really shaken up right now, and didn't really expect anyone to answer.]

I'm... I'm near a lake, but I can't... I can't see any buildings.

A lake? [Wasn't there one on that map she was given?] Hang on, I'll try to be out there in a bit.

[Alice isn't sure what to say, whether to give some sort of acknowledgment or thanks, and she doesn't like this. Her mind was still in a haze, still bothered by the darkness that had touched her. She shakes her head.]

Do you... Do you know where I am? I mean, we are? [This wasn't Cauldron Lake. She knew that much, just by glancing behind her. It lacked the expansive green-blue water and the towering mountains. She was nowhere she recognized, and maybe this was Alan's doing, maybe Alan sent her somewhere safe.]

[Brooke continues talking while making her way out of the village, hopefully going the correct way. She knew she was starting from the Welcome Center, so she had an idea of which direction was which...]

I just ended up here a bit ago myself, but some people already gave me the basic idea of what's going on and told me where to look in this book for a guide that tries to explain things in detail. Apparently, the place is called Luceti, and we're kind of stuck here. [The few people she's met so far seem nice enough, but the idea of being trapped really isn't sitting well with her, and the pensive tone she speaks with makes that pretty clear.]

Luceti. [She felt like she was sucked into some mythological story, which was a welcome changed from the cold darkness but still unnerving.] This isn't anywhere near Bright Falls. [She wasn't asking because it was obvious. This probably wasn't anywhere near her home.]

Did this guide say anything useful? [she's trying hard to get a firm hold of herself]

It's a little hard to put into words, really, so it might be a better idea to try reading it when you've got a chance. You have a book there with you, it'll be in there if you look, probably pretty close to the front. The really basic idea, though, is someone brought us here somehow and we can't leave.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around some of it myself.

[something to focus on, this was good. Brooke might hear her shuffling through the pages, checking things out.]

That... odd, huh?

I've seen some weird things, but I didn't think waking up to discover I had wings was going to be one of them.

[A pause.]

Crap, I think I'm going the wrong direction. Uh... [Think fast, Brooke...] Okay, listen. Just keep talking to me until I or someone else can find you out there, alright? [If she can't find Alice she'll at least be attempting to provide some manner of company until somebody can.]

(ooc: This way we're not going to contradict Edward finding her in his thread. That fine with you?)

[Alice holds her breathe for a moment, glancing down at the journal.] It's all right. I--Uh, you haven't been here long, either. I shouldn't have expected you to come... [she doesn't know where anything is, or if she's far away or]

Someone else said they were coming, so... [she's still so frazzled]

(ooc; perfectly fine, I was actually going to suggest something like this.)

[Brooke's feeling a bit disappointed in herself now. How in the world had she managed to go in the wrong direction when she knew what building she was starting from and had a copy of the map?] Okay, that's good...

[Some turning pages, the book being flipped over a couple times, and other such things. In a moment, if Alice is still looking at her journal, there finally appears an image of the person who has been speaking to her for these past minutes. It's a brown-haired, green-eyed girl with glasses and an unusual mark on one side of her face, and she looks rather concerned.]

Whoever it is, I don't think it'll take them long, so just hold on until they can reach you, and let me know when you make it to the village, alright? [She'll worry all the more if she doesn't hear that this woman made it there okay.]

[She sees the image and gives a sort of smile, all the while wondering if everyone here was so kind and helpful.]

Hey, I don't think I ever asked for your name. Sorry about that. I'm Alice Wake. [Alice feels terrible now that she's getting mind back together, causing people to worry, and waste time looking for her. If only she were back at Cauldron Lake with Alan, if only, if only...]

[The people Brooke's seen so far are, but there are bound to be a few bad apples in the entire lot, aren't there?]

That's totally understandable, really, so don't worry about it too much. [Being lost somewhere would make one forget to ask things like that, she figures.] My name's Brooke Eirichu. ["ī-rĭk". It'll be confusing if she ever has to write it out.]

Thank you for helping me, Brooke, and talking to me. It means... a lot to me. [More than she could possibly explain. Just knowing that someone was on the... other line, so to speak, helped infinitely and gave her something to get her mind off of... everything else]
