Oi! When was the last time I exercised?
No wonder I feel like shit!
My folks told me today that, for a birthday present, they're going to get me a computer desk
and a papasan chair.
They're also paying for part of the incredibly overpriced truck
that will be carrying most of my worldly possessions up Interstate Five,
over the Siskiyou summit, the highest point along I-5 (4,310 feet),
and into Portland.
My dad's also going to be driving the truck. In short, my parents rock.
In other news, I finally, finally finished The Iliad.
Took me forever, but it was worth it. Now, however, I'm reading I'm A Stranger Here Myself, by Bill Bryson,
which has a little less hacking and slashing. It's very light and funny. It's not that often that a book makes me laugh out loud, but this book has caused me to have to explain the source of my amusement several times. Go read it.
That's it, I guess. I've been working on securing a transfer from my job here in Sacramento to one up in Portland. I've been slacking a little on the "finding a GOOD job" thing, but I'll get my ass in gear on that once I get up there. Also, Ryan may be moving to San Francisco for now, but that doesn't mean I've given up on getting him to move up to Portland at SOME point in the not-too-distant future so that we can open our own business, and he's even told me not to give up.
Plus, there's the whole "writer" thing.
I feel like I have more to say, but I'm sick of sitting at this computer.
I will, however, leave you with this: 18 days 'till moving day. Only 10 of those days will be spent at work.
There's only one thing to say to THAT.
