The apartment!

My trip to Portland actually wasn't very much fun. It was just about as hot up there as it's been down here (what the fuck?), the person I was staying with creeps me out, I didn't get to see any of the LJ Portlanders I was hoping I'd get to see, plus, apartment hunting stresses me the hell out.

The thing is, I found my place on my first day of looking. But I was worried that I wasn't going to qualify, because of my less-than-stellar income. But I guess my awesome credit history made up for the fact that I'm making peanuts, and I was approved. The time between application and approval, however, was stressful as can be, and filled with lots of driving around and getting lost, looking for a back-up place.

It all worked out in the end, though. Check it out, yo.

Big windows, a deck, a wood-burning fireplace, a kitchen that's open to the living room, and ... wait for it ... a washer and dryer IN THE UNIT. That's right. No more scrounging for quarters or standing guard over your laundry. And the location is great, too. It's about three miles west of downtown, in a really nice, quiet woodsy area, with a bus stop on the corner, a Max stop about a mile up the road, and a grocery store just a little ways down the street. The apartment itself is about a half mile down from the main road, which is both good and bad, but overall, I couldn't be more pleased. I really lucked out.

Ladies and gentlemen, start your clocks.

40 days and counting until moving day.
