Greenery - I

Dec 23, 2008 02:21

I can sleep
Anywhere,
Anytime.

I have a set
of clothes
green, khaki and black.

Sometimes,
the stripes
are but pixels
Little dots of light
or shadows.

They grant me
sweet respite
amidst the pile
of GPMGs
of mosquitoes
and the rebel yell
of the Encik.

I can sleep,
I can dream,
Of freedom lost
or freedom gained

They say we all sleep
anywhere, anytime, anyhow.
On Pengkang Hill
On the 5-tonner trundling down
Lim Chu Kang
On 171 back from
Mandai Camp

I sleep
I do not dream.
Do you?
