Be A Tourist..

Mar 06, 2005 00:22

Today was "Be A Tourist In Your Hometown" day. New Hanover County residents got to do some of the touristy attractions in the area for free. It was really fun. Technically, I'm not a resident, but I could shine my laser pointer and hit a NHC building on a clear night so ha.

First we went to the studios for the tour. Since One Tree Hill isn't filming Sundays this year I got to see some of their sets. First stop, Dan and Deb Scott's house (also now Lucas Scott's house). We went in the "side" door and down a little hall and peeked in at the dinning room and stuff and went in the living room and then crowded around in the kitchen so the tour guy could tell everyone about lighting, and wild walls, and how the place isn't wired for electricity or plumbing so they have to fake it with extension cords and hoses, and fake cabinet doors and product placement and clearing the stuff. And how you REALLY don't want to eat anything in a set fridge. Heh. He pointed out the real Sunny D in there expired in 2003. lol. And said some people had noticed on Dawson's Creek that the fridge contents never changed.

Then we went to the high school. On the way out of the Scott's I noticed someone had taped a picture of Brooke with one of Erica's stickers from the show on the opposite stone wall. Like, a screencap. The High school was awesome. Like a real high school. It was very cool. We went down the hall, past the coach's office, the locker rooms, and the weight room and into the classroom. They use the same classroom for all the classes, and all the art in it is by the art department, and the books are fake and crap. heh. Also it wasn't there season 1. Instead there was the showers there. On the way out we kept going down the hall... and guess who's locker I saw... Peyton's! Obviously it's the only one that you can tell... since it's had the paint removed and is scratchy silver unlike the rests' blue.

Then we went to another sound stage where they had bedrooms. Apparently there were 3 at one point, but 2 were dismantled. I'm guessing 1 was Haley's at home, but now she lives with Nathan. and 2 was Brooke's (it didn't look like Lucas' what was left of it) and since her family is moving... But Peyton's was there. So, we went in it, and first thing that was noticed, MAN the bed is small. Poor Hil and Bryan, squeezing up in that thing. The walls are so awesome though, I want her room. It's so spunky and dark all at once. I went in the closet, VERY cool. She had very little clothes though. And her computer was missing.

Then we went to the memorabilia stage, which I'd already seen, and took cheesy pictures, including one of me climbing in Dawson's window. lol.

Then we went to Airlie Gardens, which just damn near killed me walking. I was dying of thirst by the time we got back to the van.

Then we went to the battleship, where I climbed as high as I could again, like last time, and went all the way down inside the bowels. This time I got up the nerve to go in the engine room, crazy. It was weird. Oh, ha and this guy there in front of me was wearing a Keith Scott Body Shop sweatshirt, but I didn't wanna ask if he worked on the show, because that'd be lame. Plus he may have won it in a contest. lol.

Then came home, fell asleep a little watching Down With Love, woke up because of a muscle cramp, ate dinner, fell asleep a little watching racing (not my choice) watched Celebrity Pool (poor Milo) and then The Starlet (Ha! It was awesome.) and then at 10, The L Word (awesomer! Ya know, I could be a lot gay for Katherine Moennig... if I spelled that right, which I didn't.) So now I'm exhausted and going to bed. Night!
