Dad took me to Game 7 last night. As those of you who care know, Stanley is taking a detour through Penguin Country on his way home. However, as I pointed out to those on my message list last night, we shall rise again. We'll be a great team for years to come. It was a shame to not win, but one can't let it get to them. My dad seems to think he has this curse of making his teams lose in championship games, but I seemed to think I was some luck charm to help them win home games. Fact is, our heads just weren't in the game and, while its a shame, the world did not end. The entire experience was amazing. And I watched the final game with Dad, as it should have been.

I actually debated using the phrase "our" vs. "their" heads, as I'm not an actual Red Wings player. However, I'd have shared in the joy of "our" win, so I'll share in the sadness of "our" loss. I guess that's what I try to explain to people that don't understand such devotion to a team. Every true fan is a part of the team, good times and bad. I am a Spartan. I am a Red Wing. I am a Piston, Tiger, and Lion. (The Lions make it REALLY HARD to utter that phrase, but I'm a Detroit area girl, so I'm a Detroit fan. Fair weather fans do not reside in a Freiny house.)

So I say it again....WE shall rise again. LET'S GO RED WINGS!
