I don't really get the point of this 'holiday'. It claims to promote certain values, and it seems everywhere you turn the exact opposite are in practice.

I hate how everything is closed. My life, my goals are not put on hold just because of some stupid consumer driven holiday. Tch. At least the video store is open, though i can't exactly say I was pleased to learn of the library's closure. For what?
I suppose this means I'll actually have to spend the night in the apartment.
I wonder if it would be out of place for me to sneak into the bookstore. Would be nice to have the place to myself for a change.
Unfortunately, I cannot give my brother the gift I so dearly wish to.
