Mouring in Lakeview...

Sep 21, 2005 19:40

The Times-Picayune suggested in its Saturday edition that anyone wishing to go back and see their homes should bring the following...

A. A box of Kleenex
B. A shoulder to cry on.

I had neither.

This is my account of the aftermath of Katrina and what I saw when I entered Nola and my dear neighborhood of Lakeview.

RIP sweet home...read and see more here )

I'm sorry to hear about all this, i'm down in Texas tright now, i'm going to be catching the outter bands of Rita, nothing big really, but gas around here is non-exsistent at the moment, and we're expecting heavy rain and 50-100mph winds, which we won't get much of as we're in the hill country, and it blows everything to the east of us, though my grandmothers going crazy...i don't really care what happens to me, my uncle was over there helping all you folks, and those in louisana, he's a trucker, and he was doing all sorts of stuff, my friend eddy was down there cooking 600 meals everytime it was time to eat, i sent money to red cross, alogn with my mother and grandmother, i hope everything gets better there as best it can....good luck, good bye.
